Após a proclamação do Estado de Israel em Maio de 1948, uma família judia mizrahi emigra da Tunísia para a Palestina. Ao entrar na casa que lhes foi atribuída, a família surpreende-se com os sinais de partida apressada dos antigos ocupantes palestinos. Entre outras coisas, deixaram um grande papagaio azul que atormenta a família na sua nova vida, como um irritante demónio do passado. Quando a família convida os vizinhos ashkenazi, contando beneficiar da sua influência, a situação agrava-se com as revelações inoportunas do papagaio Saeed.

Shortly after the declaration of the State of Israel in May 1948, a Mizrahi Jewish family emigrates from Tunisia to Palestine. Entering their newly assigned home, the family is surprised by the haste with which the former Palestinian occupants must have fled. Among their many leftovers, the Jewish family finds a big blue talking parrot. Like an annoying poltergeist from the past, it haunts the family in their new life. When the family invites their Ashkenazi neighbors over, hoping to benefit from their social influence of the wealthy family, the situation escalates with the embarrassing revelations from Saeed, the parrot.
