Maria trabalha num salão de unhas. É trabalho precário, sem seguro nem benefícios sociais. Também está grávida de nove meses. Um dia, é inesperadamente despedida. Nessa mesma noite, tem um sonho perturbador. Acorda com a certeza de que não terá o bebé enquanto não recuperar o emprego. E assim começa a “greve ao parto” de Maria. Uma curta-metragem sobre um sonho, passado em Atenas, na Grécia.
Maria works at a nail salon. She’s working off the books, without insurance or benefits. She’s also 9 months pregnant. One day she’s suddenly fired. The same night, she has an unsettling dream. She wakes up certain that she will not go into labor until she gets her job back. And so, Maria’s ”birth strike” begins. A short film about a dream set in Athens, Greece.
