Now in its 7th edition, the Olhares do Mediterraneo – Women’s Film Festival continues to promote and showcase the cinematographic work of women from the Mediterranean basin. In this year of closed borders and forced reclusions, we find it even more vital to bring the Mediterranean shores closer together, taking advantage of all techniques to eliminate barriers and constraints.

During an intense week of films, round tables, masterclasses and workshops, we will share experiences on how to push / stamp the work of women among film industry and discuss about the importance of promoting social changes through cinema and film festivals.

In this edition, we will be at Cinema São Jorge, at ISCTE-IUL and online at FILMIN Portugal, with more than 50 films made by women from the Mediterranean area. We will also be Awareness and Empowerment, an educational and collaborative project between women film festivals and associations, involving partners from France, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Spain and Turkey.

We love cinema that questions the state of affairs and we wanted a program that unveils ideas, emotions and imagination. We hope to have achieved it.
