Rita pertence a um coro feminino que corre o risco de se desmembrar por ter perdido o subsídio municipal que lhes permitia alugar uma sala de ensaios. Agora o grupo tem que decidir se aceita ou não o patrocínio de uma das empresas que mais polui o vale.

Rita belongs to an all-female choir that is in danger of being disbanded because they’ve lost the municipal subsidy that allowed them to rent a rehearsal room. Now the group has to decide whether to accept sponsorship from one of the most polluting companies in the valley.

Um dia, uma menina de uma aldeia vê sangue nas cuecas. É a sua primeira menstruação, mas ela não sabe o que é. Hesitando em consultar outras pessoas, tenta descobrir por si própria. Finalmente encontra uma resposta, mas esta apenas a esclarece quanto ao papel que lhe está predestinado.

One day, a girl living in a village sees blood on her panties. She’s having her first period but she doesn’t know what it is. She hesitates to ask someone and tries to discover what’s happening on her own. She finally finds an answer, but that answer is only the part of the cycle she’s in.

Nota da Realizadora Director’s Statement
According to the belief, the menstrual cycle has been a taboo since Eve, the first woman, and this taboo is part of a cycle that has been passed down from generation to generation until today’s Eve. It is not a coincidence that the name of the lead character of the film is Eve (Havva). The film takes its inspiration from this taboo. It is about how a biological process can turn into a tragic story in the Middle Eastern geography. Growing up, discovering yourself, being ashamed of yourself, hiding yourself, feeling alone. And one day to face the consequences of being a woman. This is the cycle.

Pablo passa as tardes no bairro com o irmão mais velho e os amigos deste. O Verão é o cenário mais louco das suas vidas, como se o mundo só existisse para as crianças. Apesar da realidade confusa em que cresce, para Pablo, cada dia é uma oportunidade de descobrir o mundo e de o compreender à sua maneira.

Pablo spends afternoons in his neighbourhood with his older brother and his friends. Summer is the craziest scenario of their lives as if the world had been left to children alone. Despite the confusing reality in which he grows up, for Pablo every day is an opportunity to discover the world and understand it in his own way.

In a small Mediterranean village, an ancient myth unexpectedly comes to life. Two fishermen find a dolphin accidentally caught in their nets. The dolphin, on its turn, finds a fisherman drowning in the water and tries to save him.

Anaklia, uma cidade recém-construída com vista para o Mar Negro, na fronteira com a Abcásia, uma região formalmente independente desde 1999, devia ter-se tornado uma das principais estâncias turísticas da Geórgia. Contudo, os visitantes são recebidos por um cenário inesperado.

Anaklia, a newly built city overlooking the Black Sea at the border with Abkhazia, a formally independent region since 1999, was supposed to become one of Georgia’s top tourist resorts. Visitors, however, are welcomed by unexpected scenery.

Nota da Realizadora Director’s Statement
Anaklia is a short documentary made during the film residency organized by Caucasus Cinema in the Republic of Georgia in May 2022. The last stop of the residency, Anaklia, immediately exerted a strong fascination on me. Wandering in the emptiness of its streets, listening to the song of the wind that infiltrates its infrastructure, observing the dark rooms of its empty hotels, I immediately thought the place itself should be the protagonist of the film. Anaklia, created by man, is a city without men, dominated by skeletal buildings and, at night, by the street dogs and cows that seem to rebel against their confinement outside the city, grazing on the little grass that remains between the luxury hotels and the neon-lit palm trees.
