OM2016 – Asswat Minazol | Echoes of the Shadows

In 1994, she directed and produced her first Medium Documentary BETWEEN US TWO… BEIRUT, followed by THE SILK ROAD in Anatolia and THE BATEFOOT DIVA in Africa (Cabo Verde) with the famous singer Cesária Évora.

She moved to Paris in 1995 where she continued directing and producing, than left to Sri Lanka where she worked as a Producer-Director for Young Asia TV.
In 1998 she returned to Beirut where she established Crystal Films, a Film production and Distribution company.

In 2005, she co-produced her documentary & directed MAID FOR SALE with Belgium & France. Best Audience Award at Vesoul International Asian Festival; 1st prize at Cawtar & IPPF Festival- & MDG United Nations Award-Tunis-Best Documentary & Critics Award at Khouribga International Festival-Morocco.

2010-2016: She produced more than 8 documentaries in the MEA and for AL-Jazeera Doc channel: FOREIGNERS AT HOME” & “BIDOUN by Remi Itani. Directed 4 documentaries: STRANGER’S CEMETERY, PLAY TIME, THE MOTHERS REFUGEES, ECHOES OF THE SHADOWS.

Since 2006: ♦ Vice-President of “APIMED” (Association of Mediterranean Independent Producers)- Barcelona-Spain. They established the Medimed TV market in Spain.
