This is a silent tale of an immigrant woman looking for a better life. As she struggles with loneliness and poverty, she is unable to forget what she left behind. A look at the exploitation of immigrants in Portugal, through the eyes of a greenhouse worker.

DIRECTOR’S STATEMENT Growing up as an immigrant on a rural area of Portugal, I’ve always noticed people like me waiting at the bus stop, at dawn, or being transported at the back of open vans. My mother and many of her friends had the experience of working at one of the toughest jobs of the region – the greenhouses. 20 years after my arrival, many people are still being exploited at these places and living in terrible conditions. In this very personal film, Maria arrives at her Green (new) House with a greater purpose.
