A partir das histórias das dificuldades e perigos encontrados na realização dos filmes The Hour of Revolution Has Arrived e Leila and the Wolves, e o seu impacto político e social, fala-se do potencial transformativo do cinema, numa óptica anticolonial e feminista.

By focusing on the stories about the difficulties and dangers encountered while making the films The Hour of Revolution Has Arrived and Leila and the Wolves, we will talk about the transformative potential of cinema, from an anti-colonialist and feminist perspective.

HEINY SROUR
Nascida em Beirute, em 1945, Heiny Srour, realizadora libanesa, foi a primeira mulher árabe a apresentar um filme em Cannes, em 1974. Através dos seus filmes, escritos e do financiamento de outros cineastas, promove a defesa dos direitos das mulheres. 

Born in Beirut in 1945, the Lebanese director Heiny Srour was the first Arab woman to have a film screened in Cannes, in 1974. Through her films and writings and funding other filmmakers, she promotes the defence of women’s rights.
