Ovul é uma tentativa de compreender o papel social das mulheres nos tempos modernos. O que acontece quando uma mulher é estéril? Será a maternidade o paradigma do “êxito” feminino? Será ela o pilar da identidade da mulher? O que acontece se não se puder ter filhos? Trarão os remédios naturais e a limpeza espiritual tranquilidade à alma e à mente, ou ajudarão a que ela se afunde cada vez mais no seu medo e na sua luta?
Ovul is an attempt to understand the social role of women in modern times. What happens when a woman turns out to be infertile? Is motherhood the paradigm of female “success”? Is it the cornerstone of a woman’s identity? What happens then, if one cannot have children? Will natural remedies and spiritual cleansing bring tranquillity of the soul and mind, or make one sink even deeper in her fear and struggle?
