Foragers situa-se entre o documentário e a ficção para retratar a tensão entre a Autoridade Israelita de Proteção da Natureza e os respigadores palestinianos, que recolhem ervas selváticas para a preparação do Za’atar. Com um humor subtil, fruto do desespero, e sem nunca mostrar as manifestações mais crudas da violência, o filme descreve o cotidiano nos Territórios Ocupados.
Foragers moves between documentary and fiction to depict the drama between the Israeli Nature Protection Authority and Palestinian foragers who collect wild edible plants to make Za’atar. With a wry sense of humour born from despair, without displaying the most conspicuous forms of violence, the film describes everyday life in the Occupied Territories.

Num cruzamento dos arquivos filmados em Super 8 por membros da Marinha Francesa com o texto da autora taitiana Chantal Spitz, extraído do seu livro “A Ilha dos Sonhos Despedaçados”, Aldébaran relembra a história nuclear entre o governo francês e a Polinésia.
1966: France launches its brand new nuclear base on the atoll of Moruroa, off the coast of Tahiti. By comparing Super 8 archives captured by members of the French Navy with the text of the Tahitian author Chantal Spitz, taken from her book “The Island of Shattered Dreams”, Aldébaran looks back on the nuclear history between the French government and Polynesia.

Serigne Mbayé arrived in Spain in a boat from Senegal. After 15 years of anti-racist struggle in Madrid, today, converted into a politician, he is determined to confront the European Union. His mission: to hold Brussels as responsible for his migration and that of thousands of his compatriots.

Nesrin has left Istanbul for the family’s village house in rural Turkey to finish her first novel, but when her religious and conservative mother arrives unannounced, old conflicts resurface– revealing the schisms dividing modern Turkey and forcing them to explore the darker parts of the other’s inner world.
