ROJAVA: A Revolução das Mulheres
In May 2025, Sara David Lopes and Silvia Di Marco (co-directors of the Olhares do Mediterrâneo – Women’s Film Festival) travelled to Qamishlo (Rojava/Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria) at the invitation of the Kezi Collective to take part in the 1st edition of the Nûjiyan Women’s Film Festival.
In this session, they will share their experience and present the documentary Jînwar – Women’s Village by Nadya Derwis, which portrays the creation of a self-sustaining and safe women’s village, and the autobiographical short fiction film The Sleeping Death by Zilan Hemo, about a Kurdish fighter surrounded by ISIS militias.
