Nascida na Covilhã, licenciou-se em Letras mas começou muito cedo a trabalhar. Fez documentários para a RTP logo a seguir ao 25 de Abril e depois muitos outros trabalhos como realizadora da RTP. Ensinou Televisão na Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Escreveu e realizou para cinema longas-metragens (curtas e documentários) presentes em vários festivais. Sobre a sua obra foi escrito um ensaio por Ana Isabel Soares. Está a preparar uma curta-metragem nos Açores e uma longa-metragem a filmar no Douro. Paralelamente faz pintura e cerâmica
Born in Covilhã, Margarida Gil holds a degree in Literature but she started to work in the filmmaking field very early in her career. She made documentaries for RTP, right after the 25th of April revolution, as well as many other films as RTP’s film director. She taught Television at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She wrote and directed feature films (fiction and documentaries) for the silver screen, shown at several festivals. Her work was the subject of a book by Ana Isabel Soares. She is currently making a short film in the Azores and a feature film in the Douro region. She is also a painter and a ceramist..

Argumentista, realizador, produtor, consultor de guiões e Docente de Cinema, Teatro e Media. Começou a sua carreira no cinema e teatro em 1994, e desde então tem escrito, dirigido e produzido peças de teatro, filmes e documentários, galardoados com numerosos reconhecimentos e prémios nacionais e internacionais. Sam é, entre outras coisas, Presidente Fundador da Beirut Film Society; Fundador e Director do Beirut International Women Film Festival, Beirut Shorts International Film Festival, Beirut International Children and Family Film Festival, Festival de Cinema Libanês no Canadá & EUA, e muitos outros eventos cinematográficos. É membro da Comissão Nacional de Cinema do Ministério da Cultura libanês.
Sam Lahoud is a scriptwriter, director, producer, script consultant, and lecturer in Film, Theater and Media. He started his career in film and theater in 1994, and since then he has written, directed and produced theater plays, films and documentaries, which received many national and international recognitions and awards. Sam is, among other things, a Founding Chair of the Beirut Film Society; Founder & Director of the Beirut International Women Film Festival, the Beirut Shorts International Film Festival, the Beirut International
Children and Family Film Festival, the Lebanese Film Festival in Canada & USA, and many
other film events. He is a member of the National Film Committee of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture.

As suas longas metragens The Tree (2014) and History of Love (2018) foram aclamadas pela crítica, tendo vencido vários prémios e sido nomeadas para os Óscares eslovenos. Depois de participar na Berlinale, Sarajevo Talents, TorinoFilmLab e Midpoint, foi destacada pelo Cineuropa como uma de oito realizadoras a seguir. Em 2020, foi incluída no primeiro Eurimages Golden Album. Alterna com mestria filmes mais independentes – igualmente apreciados por cinéfilos e críticos de cinema pela sua particular e sofisticada linguagem visual e cinematográfica – e filmes de género, como a premiada curta de comédia Paradise (2019).
Sonja Prosenc’s award-winning and critically acclaimed feature films The Tree (2014) and History of Love (2018) have been nominated for the Slovenian Oscars. After taking part at Berlinale and Sarajevo Talents, TorinoFilmLab and Midpoint, she was selected by Cineuropa among eight European female directors to watch, and in 2020 Eurimages included her in the first Eurimages Golden Album. She glides successfully between arthouse films that are highly regarded by film critics and cinephiles alike for their sophisticated and distinctive visual and film language, and genre films like a short awarded comedy Paradise (2019).
