JORGE CARVALHO
FORMADOR EM CINEMA E REALIZADOR | CINEMALAB FOUNDER AND FILMMAKER

Fundou e dirige o núcleo de cinema documental KINO-DOC, leccionando os cursos de documentário regular e avançado. Ainda como pedagogo, dedica-se há vários anos ao ensino de cinema aos mais novos em diversas escolas de Lisboa. Colaborou com a 1a edição do festival de cinema Offside Lisboa e com o Doclisboa 2018. Foi membro do júri nos festivais Signes de Nuit e Arquiteturas Film Festival.
Como cineasta, tem-se dedicado mais recentemente à realização e produção de documentários, bem como filmes infantis com uma forte componente plástica digital. Tem também escrito reflexões sobre imagem em movimento, com ênfase nos efeitos das novas tecnologias do vídeo. É um colaborador regular da OPTEC.

Director and founder of the documentary film lab KINO-DOC, teaching there the regular and the advanced documentary courses.He has also been teaching cinema to children and teenagers for many years in numerous Lisbon schools. He has worked with several film festivals such as the first edition of Offside Lisboa and Doclisboa 2018, and as a member of the jury of Signes de Nuit and Arquiteturas Film Festival.
As a filmmaker, in recent years he has directed and produced documentaries and CGI children’s films. He also authored articles on moving images, especially about the effects of new video technology. He regularly collaborates with OPTEC.

MARIANA LIZ
INVESTIGADORA – ESTUDOS CINEMATOGRÁFICOS | RESEARCHER – FILM STUDIES

Nasceu em Lisboa. Viveu em Espanha e Itália antes de se mudar para o Reino Unido. Em 2012, concluiu um doutoramento em Estudos Cinematográficos no King’s College London. Desde 2017, é investigadora no Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa. É autora do livro “Euro-Visions” (2016) e coordenou a edição de “ Portugal’s Global Cinema” (2018). Entre os seus interesses encontram-se identidades no cinema europeu, a internacionalização do cinema português e questões de género na era contemporânea.

Born in Lisbon. She lived in Spain and Italy before moving to the UK. In 2012 she was awarded a PhD in Film Studies at King’s College London. Since 2017 she has been a research  fellow at ICS, the Social Sciences Institute at the University of Lisbon. She is the author of “Euro-Visions” (2016) and editor of “Portugal’s Global Cinema” (2018). Her research interests include identities in European cinema, the internationalisation of Portuguese film and gender issues in the contemporary era.

SALETTE RAMALHO

Nasceu em 1977, em Vila do Conde, estudou Arquitectura e licenciou-se em Belas Artes – Pintura, no Porto. Participou em várias exposições. De 1997 a 2007 foi membro da direcção e programadora do Cineclube de Vila do Conde. Colaborou com vários festivais de cinema internacionais e outros eventos cinematográficos, tal como Porto
2001 Capital Europeia da Cultura. Foi jurada de Programas de apoio a Documentários, Longas-metragens e séries de Animação do Instituto do Cinema e Audiovisual e de apoio a curtas-metragens da Fundação GDA. É membro da comissão de selecção do Curtas Vila do Conde – Festival Internacional de Cinema, na Competição Nacional e Internacional. Desde 2004 trabalha como responsável de promoção e distribuição internacional na Agência da Curta Metragem, entidade criada pelo Curtas Vila do Conde. Programou inúmeras retrospectivas de curta-metragem portuguesa para Centros culturais Portugueses e para festivais internacionais por todo o mundo.

Born in 1977, in Vila do Conde, studied architecture and has a bachelor degree in Arts – Painting (2002), Porto. She participated in several exhibitions. From 1997 to 2007, she was a member of the board of directors and programmer of the Cineclube de Vila do Conde, and, in the meantime, collaborated with international cinema festivals and other film events such as Porto 2001 – European Capital of Culture. She was a jury at the Portuguese Film Institute for the evaluation of projects concerning animation short and feature films, tv series and documentary films, and also jury at GDA Foundation for short film projects. She is a member of the selection committee at Curtas Vila do Conde International Film Festival, for the Portuguese and International Competitions. She works as international promotion and distribution manager at Agencia – Portuguese Short Film Agency, an entity created by the Curtas Vila do Conde Int. FF that contributes for the visibility and recognition of Portuguese short films worldwide. She programmes Portuguese short film retrospectives for Portuguese Cultural Centres abroad and for international film festivals all over the world.
