Director’s Statement
I think if it weren’t for buses, I wouldn’t be a filmmaker. I would never have the opportunity to create fantastic stories the way I was given the chance on bus lines 220, A5, and 227. This documentary is a thank-you for the inspiration that buses gave me to discover how much I enjoy looking at the world. Everything is connected through personal perspective and observation, like watching a video diary with all my family participating. I am interested in the film portraying modern life in Athens through the lens of daily life, as a way to capture the public history of the place through small stories and a personal perspective. The goal of the project is to contribute to the reconstruction of the public space that I feel is under threat. Exploring the city through public transportation and creating films are activities that allow me to exercise my role as a citizen, it’s the path to transition from the private to the public sphere.
