Entre as árvores e sob o olhar atento e vigilante de uma equipa mais veterana, raparigas e rapazes que trabalham na colheita de Verão exploram novos sentimentos, namoram, tentam compreender-se uns às outras, vislumbram – e evitam – ligações mais profundas. Num diálogo polifónico que se vai desenvolvendo da madrugada ao pôr do Sol, cada um revela a sua histórias, as suas ambições, as suas mágoas, desvendando aos poucos o plano social de fundo, vivido como opressivo e prevaricador por algumas das jovens mulheres, acolhedor e protector por outras.

In the fig orchard, under the attentive eye of older and more experienced workers, young women and men working during the summer harvest develop new feelings, flirt, try to understand each other, find – and flee – deeper connections. In a polyphonic dialogue from dawn to sunset, each of them reveals their history, ambitions, and wounds, uncovering the social reality they live in. Some of the young women feel it’s oppressive and prevaricating, some feel it as welcoming and protective.
